Circle of Will

These children were dancing round and round at a weekly summer evening outdoor concert called Alpenglow, in Crested Butte, Colorado. They fairly glowed and sparked in the setting sunlight and mountain music. While sketching and painting, I nicknamed the little boy "Will," the little girl "Wilma," and the scene "The Circle of Will." A colleague misheard that as "Circle of Willis" (the arrangement of arteries interconnecting at the base of the human brain), presumed the painting an allegory, and the painting ended up on the cover of World Neurosurgery.
